Ch 18 — Two-sample t test

In life sciences, it is common to compare two responses or two treatments in statistical studies. That’s the subject matter of Ch 18.

We can use hypothesis tests or confidence intervals to compare two population means. Today, we’ll discuss how to compare two population means via hypothesis testing. All the 5 steps are more or less similar to those in one-sample hypothesis tests in Ch 17.

    • #18.32 all sub-parts — one-sided hypothesis test
    • One additional question (not in book) — one-sided hypothesis test

We will do two-sided tests in homework multiple choice problems later.
