Activities
- Students will use Cellular to try out and manipulate several cellular automata simulations.
- Students will code a visual network, using a tool such as SVG.
A Working SVG Example
You can try out a simplified version in the window below. Each node in the grid represents a region (using a general historic or recent name). Connection lines generally mean that the regions are adjacent and mutually accessible. Portions of the network with the same color represent areas governed by the same entity, such as a kingdom, republic or empire. Click + or – to advance or reverse through a century at a time. Click “Start” to go to the earliest available century. (You may have to change the browser resolution or scroll to see changes for some centuries.) It may take a moment to load.
